ATLANTA, August 18th, 2008 - McKesson announced today that Practice Partner Patient Records, an award-winning electronic health record, has been recognized by the ePrescribe Florida Collaborative for meeting its electronic prescribing functionality and patient safety criteria.
Practice Partner Patient Records completed the review process of its electronic prescribing functionality with the ePrescribe Florida Collaborative. The review included the system’s ability to alert prescribers to potential drug-drug and drug-allergy interactions during the prescribing process. Practice Partner Patient Records also satisfied the Medicare Part D prescribing standards for presenting patient formulary, benefit and medication history information and electronically transmitting new prescriptions and refills.
“Our goal is to give prescribers the information and independent review they need to help implement successful e-prescribing solutions,” says Walt Culbertson, executive director of ePrescribe Florida. Vendor community participation is critical in our mission of increasing the adoption of electronic prescribing by physicians and clinicians.”
Practice Partner Patient Records electronic prescribing capabilities also include drug-condition, drug-pregnancy, drug-age and drug dosage checking, as well as, a dose advisor and dose calculator. Working within a fully integrated electronic medical record and practice management system, providers are able to write a prescription and automatically update the progress note and medication list.
